Sons of the Resurrection

by Paul Jablonowski

May 23, 2010

Happy Pentecost Sunday!

Pentecost is connected with the Feast of Firstfruits because Pentecost is exactly 50 days after the feast of Firstfruits and both always fall on a Sunday. I wrote about Firstfruits in my last newsletter, and this newsletter is connected to my last one because both of them are dealing with this subject of our personal RESURRECTION. Since first writing "The Resurrection of our Body" fifty days ago on Firstfruits, I have been reading and meditating on the following verse almost every day in my early morning quiet times with the LORD:

Jesus answered and said to them (the Sadduccees), "The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage. But those who are counted worthy to attain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection." (Luke 20:34-36)

What does it mean to be a son of the resurrection? These verses seem to imply that some people are worthy to enter into the next age and some are not. It seems to be saying that in the age to come there will be some people who attain resurrected bodies on the earth who cannot die anymore. The apostle Paul said he was striving to attain this too: "that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead." (Phil. 3:10-11)

Paul went on to say in the verses following that he knew he had not yet attained this goal. Why? Because he didn't yet have a resurrected body like the Lord Jesus who was the firstfruit to rise from the dead. There is a firstfruits company that Paul was striving to be among who will be allowed and honored to walk the earth in a resurrected body! Many other saints after Jesus' resurrection also walked the earth in resurrected bodies as a foreshadow of this truth: "and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep (died) were raised; and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many." (Matthew 27:52-53)

Let's read another writing of Paul dealing with this same subject, because the scriptures are loaded with them but we often try to relegate them to after our death in heaven instead of in the here and now on earth: "And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man (including a resurrected body). Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep (die), but we shall all be changed - in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality." (1 Cor 15:49-53)

Why is there a need for resurrected bodies? First and foremost, so that we can know the LORD more intimately, but also because the times we are about to walk through will demand that we have the supernatural among us. There is always a purpose when God moves, and He is about to move in a supernatural way so that the real and the false will be made known among Christians. God's true leaders are about to be elevated which by default will reveal those who are pretending or walking outside of their true calling. Eventually there will even be saints from old who have been raised from the dead among our leaders! (Isaiah 26:19)

If we understand the times in which we live, then this is not a stretch of faith to believe. In my third newsletter I wrote about the timeline where we stand in God's outworking with mankind. The bottom line is that we are currently in a 33 and 1/2 year transition period between the age of Grace and the age of the Kingdom. This transition period started in 1999 and will continue until 2033 during which time there will be much shaking and change happening. The 273 3 revelation which I discussed in my last newsletter is a part of that shaking.

This 273 3 revelation is like a Gideon 300 army that God is using to defeat His enemies similar to how Gideon defeated the Midianites in his day. This "Gideon 300 army" is like a fault line that will shake and divide the kingdoms of this world as the LORD leads and directs. It is also like a key that is a small thing which opens a larger door of purpose and understanding.

As the things of this world begin to shake and fall like stock markets, corrupt businesses / organizations and "goat" nations; the people of God will be getting stronger and stronger. Those walking in resurrection glory will bring much encouragement and hope for the rest of the body of Christ which will be going through great trials and tribulations. But the true Kingdom of God cannot be shaken and only those things in our lives that are not founded upon Jesus will be judged and shaken from us.

The American stock market is going to crash again, and our generation will live through some of that shaking. Many nations are in a debt crises that has gone unchecked for decades. Even though denial can produce a strong delusion, this smoke screen will come down very fast and change the dynamics of how we buy and sell quickly. The current problems in Greece are not an isolated event, but are typical of American debt issues too. History proves that throwing more debt at debt only prolongs the ultimate crash in currency. The Middle East is also at a tipping point during the next few decades.

True peace in the Middle East will not come by man's agenda, but will only come when the Jew and Gentile are joined together as one in Messiah Yahoshua (Jesus). This is part of the 273 revelation (from Numbers 3:46) where the 120 Jews in the upper room at Pentecost (Acts 1:15) and the 153 (Gentile nations) fish caught by Peter (John 21:11) equals the 273 "one new man" of Jew and Gentile in Messiah (Eph 2:15)... 120 + 153 = 273. The Jews were God's mailman to deliver His Word and His purposes for mankind, but the Arabs are also a blessed people.

Consider that God has blessed the Arabs with so much of the oil in the middle east for a reason and a purpose. They are also in the prophetic plan of God to bless Israel and to be a blessing in the land to all their neighbors. God honored Abraham's prayer to bless Ishmael and we should also have the heart of our father Abraham to be a blessing to the multitudes of Arabs in the middle east who are searching for truth. The scriptures show that there will be a highway of holiness between Egypt, Iraq and Israel:

"In that day five cities in the land of Egypt will speak the language of Canaan (Hebrews) and swear by the LORD of hosts... The LORD will be known to Egypt and the Egyptians will know the LORD... there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria (which is modern day Iraq) ... Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria (Iraq) - a blessing in the midst of the land, whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, "Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria (Iraq) the work of My hands, and Israel my inheritance." (Isa. 19:18-25) So there is a great awakening destined for ALL of the Middle East, and the Arab nation's spiritual harvest is a prophecy for all three families of Abraham.

So during this year's Pentecost season my heart has been eagerly looking forward to seeing the sons of the resurrection become a reality in the earth. Whether it is this year, two years from now or twenty years from now is not my decision, but I know it will happen because we have the sure Word of prophecy - "But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep (died knowing the LORD), lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep (die) in Jesus... Therefore comfort one another with these words." (1 Thess. 4:13,14,18)
